Patrick McCollum Receives Ralph Bunchie Medal for Peace
Dear Friends:
Today I am both honored and humbled to share with you that I have just been informed by the International Human Rights Consortium, that I have been chosen to be the recipient of the 2016 Ralph Bunche Medal For Peace.
The Peace Medal, which was designed and sculpted by Alex Shagin, the world-renowned metal sculptor and coin designer best known for designing Olympic Medals, various national coins of the realm, and projects like the huge, several story high bas relief of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., has normally been bestowed in Geneva Switzerland. But in Honor of the United Nations CSW60 Commission on the status of Women being convened at the United Nations in New York
I will receive the Peace Medal there. The medal is reflective of the work of Ralph Johnson Bunche(/bʌntʃ/; August 7, 1903 or 1904 – December 9, 1971) who was an American political scientist, academic, and diplomat who received the 1950 Nobel Peace Prize for his late 1940s mediation in Israel.
I will be the last recipient of this prestigious award and will have the high honor of joining a list of very distinguished Laureates.
I want to thank the many friends and colleagues who have supported & encouraged my work for World Peace over the years, and I share the honor of this award with all of you.
It has been a long and difficult journey and I still have far to go, but with your support, we have already shifted the consciousness of people across the planet toward a more peaceful and sustainable future. Please join me now as I take the next step to raise the status of women and to protect nature and the environment, and let us together create a world to be proud of. A world where peace prevails and there is equality and appreciation for all.
May Peace Prevail On Earth, And May It Begin With Me!
